Vagamon

Is a hill station in Kerala situated 1,100 meters above sea level.  Vagamon was discovered by the British who found the place ideal for tea plantations and they were followed by Christian missionaries who built their abode of service at Kurisumala in Vagamon. National Geographic Traveler has listed Vagamon on their directory of the ’50 most attractive places to visit in India’.The landscape is mostly hilly bald with green meadows. Vagamon is also home to a large variety of flowers and orchids. Cuddled up within three striking hills Thangal, Murugan and Kurisumala hills which are the representation of the chief religions in Kerala, i.e. Hindu, Muslim, and Christian, which represent the cultural harmony. The place also has amenities for trekking, paragliding, mountaineering and rock climbing. However, business interests are trying their best to exploit and sell and market Vagamon for tourists.

Pick up at Kochi / Kottayam. Move towards Vagamon.

Check-in at the hotel at Vagamon. After rest move out for sightseeing

WildOrchid

The 15 hectare garden of Orchids is located in Kolahalamedu in Vagamon The garden is packed with a rare variety of Orchids that are found in the Western Ghats.kerala Forest Development Corporation(KFDC) Vagamon took the complete initiative to operate the first Orchid garden in Kerala which will help in enhancing the greenery of Vagamon.

Kurisumala /the mountain of cross

Kurisumala is a Christian pilgrimage site in Vagamon.The rocky mountain extends over 1 km with 14 crosses can be seen on the pathway that lines and leads to a small chapel built at the peak.Hiking up the holy mountain is a  sacred experience to many pilgrims that travel at the season of Easter and have a  history of over more than 100 years.

 Murukanmala

Muruganmala is located closer to Vagamon Kurisumala. Murugan Mala is a pilgrim hill reached by foot.Once it was a tribal worship province located 2 km away from Vagamon in Idukki.  A small shrine is located, inside the jungle lies a stone idol of Murugan.This hill is named after Murugan.the son of Lord Shiva who used to meditate over this hill as depicted in the epic.

Pineforest

This is the most touristic spot in Vagamon extending over2kms.The breathtaking scenery of this forest includes the lofty pine trees lined in rows and the fallen colorful pine leaves all over the place.This is also a windy spot where you can hear the soothing sound of the tree leaves and birds chirping near the green valley set beside the pine valley.

Day 3– After breakfast, move directly to  Thekkady (Periyar)

Check in to the Hotel at Thekkady.

Do Boating at Periyar Lake to watch the wildlife Animals.

Visit Spices plantation and city spice market.

Do watch Martial Arts in the evening.

Overnight stay at Hotel.

Day 4 – Checkout after breakfast and move towards Munnar.

On the way visit many viewpoints.Check in at the hotel and relax. Evening visit Echo point, Mattupetty Dam.

Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 5 Munnar  – After breakfast visit Rajamala, Tea Museum, Tea plantations, Spice garden etc.

Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 6 -After breakfast checkout and move towards Koch airport/Railway station
